| Hi everybody, my wife carole and I have been looking for a Brazilian aircooled for a while and have finally found one. She is a 2002 Rio originally from beetles uk, and so far so good. (although she does seem to lack power occasionally and stutter a bit) so will have to take a look on the forums to get to the bottom of it. I am used to working on our old 73 devon but I must admit the engine bay on the Brazilian looks a whole lot more complicated. I stumbled across this site by accident and had to sign up as from reading the forums you seem a great bunch | |

| Welcome Steve. Great that you found us.
Now, stuttering, loss of power, sounds like you need your tappets adjusting. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |

| Cheers for the heads up Paul. Funnily enough I have already booked clementine in to mid nfk aircooled to try and get her fit and ready for our road trip. I will definitely take a look at the parts site to though for future use. | |

| Hi Scooby, Were heading off through belgium into germany then taking a right and heading down through Austria, into slovenia and croatia (which apparently is amazing), then over to Italy, (where a few family are meeting up with us for a few days), some in a motor home, and one that we are picking up at milan airport. Then through southern france and into northern spain, then head up kind of following the coast round and back to dunkirk. By the sounds of that maybe 6 weeks isnt going to be enough... Should be amazing though! | |

| Croatia is amazing and people very nice too. You'll have a great time. We love Italy but had a bad experience there years ago when we got sleeping gas sprayed through the vent and woke up with no money (they even took off gold rings etc) . We now have a garden Gnome that whistles on a motion sensor when someone walks into the awning! Liitle security tricks can go a long way and the Gnome has a very important job so he's happy too! | |
