I have searched everywhere on here sure I have read it on here.

Does anyone have the flip down television fitted by Danbury? Is it any good. Our stereo plays DVDs so was thinking of hooking up a flip down for rainy days. What is the make and model so I can haveca search.

Sorry for all the questions

I haven't seen Danbury's flip-down TV but I do recall it costs about £1200 and another £400 or so for an external aerial.

Have a look at good old Maplin, they have little flip up TVs (which can be mounted upside down, hung on the back of one of the front seats or stood on the table) for around the £100 mark! I have one with a little aerial which packs flat (also from Maplin) which I can use inside or pop outside if need be.

Caravan suppliers also do a good range of flip down TVs starting at £250 or so, wth screens a bit larger than the Maplin ones.

Someone on here, I forget who, has mounted their TV under their sliding poptop bed boards so they can watch it in bed, sitting on the back seat or from their awning.

Don't forget you have to power it somehow. The advantage of the Danbury fitted one is that it is all wired in. Mine can be powered from 240V or from a 12V cigarette lighter socket or from its rechargable batteries. The only criticism I'd have of mine is that the screen could be a little brighter, but it's perfectly watchable.

Don't forget to make sure it does freeview because the analogue signal won't be around for much longer!

Cheers for that. Will have a look at maplins may take a trip tomorrow. Looks a good price, can't warrant Danbury prices for how much it will be used.

We use a 19" Kombi-TV-DVD unit (with freeview) and store it in the wardrobe at the back. (where the spare would go)
Stand it on the sink cover to watch it - when finished - store it away again. Simples Wink

OK Skytiger - you win, yours is easier to access - but we do have a 19" Screen Laughing

I would like to install a television like Skytiger (see pic above). I've got the tv and a bracket that is designed to go under a counter. The set up should be fine but I'm not sure how to fix this onto the ceiling of the cab area. There is obviously a large void between the felt and the roof so nothing obvious to screw in to. Any suggestions?
