The Green Man, Long Itchington Empty
PostSubject: The Green Man, Long Itchington   The Green Man, Long Itchington EmptyWed Sep 28, 2011 10:48 am

Alison and I headed to Long Itchington near Leamingotn Spa last weekend to sample the delights of a village which claims to be the Real Ale capital of England.

There is a small site behind the Green Man pub which was perfect for one night's stay. We arrived about 1pm and it seemed only polite to sample a pint of Tribute before we set the awning up.

As always we had interest from others on the site with one young lady describing Absinthe as "the best toy ever". A group of chaps in a very smart T5 came over for a look and seemed impressed.

Ther are 6 pubs in the village but we only managed to visit 4 of them. The Grand Union canal runs on the outskirts and I'd recommend the village to anyone wanting a relaxing weekend away. I can particularly recommend the Buck & Bell for food - we had a brillaint meal on Saturday night although it was very busy.

I've taken a few photos on my phone (so quality not good) :

When we came back to Absinthe on Saturday night Boris seemed very jumpy and dived out of the awning - here's the reason:

He seemed to think it might be still be around in the morning:

It does look odd doesn't it?

It's the result of a less than perfect iPhone case, lack of photographic skill and too much ale...

Looks a bit like a donkey's ear to me.
