We have a Thetford 335, fits snugly in our buddy seat, ideal for late night or early morning calls of nature. Very useful with kids too.

We have the 465 electric, I'm not sure my insulation is enough to stop anyone outside knowing when I flush though. Embarassed

Here's my buddy seat I made for it to fit inside, also the reason I went for this one is it's much taller than the others so you don't have so far to fall on it. I have the foam upholstered now but still need to stick my gloss veneer on the wood(Reminds me need to buy some more veneer)

As Tallulah says
What a relief to sleep with a Thetford 335 tucked neatly in our Danbury Buddy Seat.
Usable without lifting it out. Small but still quite heavy to manhandle when filled with it's treatment liquids - wouldn't want any bigger.
When not in use there's also enough room left in the seat to store our 15" TV, aerial and power supply.

Our 335 is great, 10 litre flush tank and 10 litre waste tank and as osg said, still small and light enough to lift in and out when needed (to empty etc).

I think the 345 would fit too, assuming the dimensions of the buddy seat haven't changed and from memory there were one or two others - Coleman porta potti?

You will need to get the exact internal dimensions of the buddy seat from Danbury, measure it yourself next time you are there or wait for delivery and measure then.

Another vote for the 335 here. I'd say essential on those rainy nights, after too much cider!

We have the Thetford 345 I believe - fits snugly into our VanWurks buddy seat.

http://www.vanwurks.co.uk/porta-potti-unit-for-volkswagen-t2-bay-window.html

I believe Thetford have discontinued the 335/345 range though and replaced it with Qube (which looks basically the same).

http://www.thetford-europe.com/en/products/toilets/portable-toilets/porta-potti-qube-335.aspx

Although we haven't actually used ours yet (i like the fact it's all pristene and in it's plastic wrapper.... rabbit ) but it's reassuring to know it's there!

Very (ahem) convenient.... I thangyew

This is Priscilla's on-board 'facility'. Great for liquids - it even has a measuring gauge on the side - but solids are a bit more tricky you need a good aim....

PostSubject: Re: Thetford Portable Toilet's   Wed May 08, 2013 4:08 pm

I've finally succumbed and ordered a Thetford Portable Toilet. We've got a Bog in a Bag at the moment which is ok, but the time has come to move on. (I'm at a certain age where my capacity to drink ale exceeds my capacity to store it! Embarassed )

So the question is: Do I fork out a small fortune for a Danbury box to keep it in, make one of my own or is there another alernative? We've got a small toilet tent that we take when we haven't got the awning, to put our folding bikes, bags, etc in, so maybe we should just put it in there.

Any other suggestions?

So it is and it would blend better with Absinthe's interior wouldn't it?

Hi Abs , we found the Danbury buddy seat only accommodated the more compact portaloo's on the market... I did make the mistake of purchasing one at a local camping outlet without checking the dimensions of the buddy seat first !!!
