| I know a few have already done this mod, but I decided to follow and change my brazilian plastic grill for a classic bay metal one. It came in primer and I painted it gloss black. Before After | |

| Hmmmm...... I'm not sure. Whilst I like the fact that you can retrofy our beloved BraziBays, I'm rather keen on keeping things somewhat authentic. Otherwise I think straying into that area of trying to look Classic starts undermining the individuality of the Brazilian Kombi and fuels the 'replica' theories of the Germanic purists. But that's just me. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |

| I do tend to agree with Tim, that's why I never had the 'dub tub' on the front of my aqua, it is what it is, Brazilian and proud of it! ' light the blue touch paper and retire' | |

Exactly, and if you change your mind, they're very easy to refresh. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |

| Well as promised this is my VW Touareg rear crash beam and towing eye, because I'm lowered I didn't want a towing point hanging down from the front permanently (probably catch on a speed bump and flip the bus ). So I will cut out the threaded part make something up to weld it onto Phileas and when I need to use it, just screw in the recovery towing eye. | |

| Well towing point isn't done yet neither is the turnbuckles but.... I have done the measurements to recalibrate my speedo since changing wheels I've found my speedo is out by about 5mph. I am sending it off to Speedycables for recalibration. One of the measurements is to count six revolutions of the road wheel and attach an arrow to end of the speedo cable and count how many times the arrow rotates. It also annoyed me that Danbury put a sticker over the original dial face for mph which in turn made the face hard to see when illuminated. So I found a classic late bay speedo(one on left) to swap the dial face with my original to give me mph but will illuminate correctly when lit. The needles pull off, the original was quite easy the late bay one took a bit of wriggling to get off. They are different from the side. With both dial faces off I peeled the middle sticker off the original in order to use the "Distance in km" part to put over the word miles on the late bay one. All finished new dial face on original speedo with "Distance in km" sticker, just need to send it off for recalibration now | |
