| Is anyone else having difficulty with the new layout? I seem to be scrolling left and right just to read all the post Any advice on screen settings to help me out? I like the non revolving "Latest Topics" section. |

| Nope. I like the new layout. Fits nicely in Opera on my iPad. And as you say, the Latest Topics section is much better. |

| Have you tried adjusting the 'view' on your browser? What browser are you using?
I've tried the site on a 4:3 screen, a 16:9 screen, iPad and iPhone - not had any issues. I view the site via Google Chrome on a pc, Safari on the iPad and Opera on the iPhone. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportzKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay |

| Only seems to allow me to zoom in and out so the page will fit but then it's a struggle to read the smaller text. I don't have wide screen monitor, it's just a 17" 'the thing they had before widescreen' screen!

| If you try a different browser that may help. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportzKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay |

Thanks. I wanted to give us a bit more of a symmetrical yet dynamic look.________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportzKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay |

| Yep Tim - it does that - I have a widescreen monitor - so maybe that's why the others are having probs - looks good on my PC |

| With the amount I've just spent on waxoyl, I don't think the wife will let me have a widescreen pc monitor too! Using firefox and just checked google chrome, still have the same problem |

| I suppose the issue could be with the frames either side, plus the quite wide "authors" bar, causing the problem. The browser cant work out which part to render for. The beauty of the iPad and it's touch screen is I can double tap the area of priority and the screen zooms to the appropriate size. Plus of course putting it into landscape gives a nice wide screen anyway.
It's been a while since I've played with websites and when I did there wasn't the proliferation of different browsers or screen sizes to handle. Must be a nightmare now. |

| If folks stick to the 800 pixel wide photo size then all should be well. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportzKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay |

| Well, it works for me and it should work on anything that claims to be widescreen, but anyone with a screen resolution lower than 1280 pixels wide will need to scroll horizontally to see everything.
Using a different browser won't make any difference.
[techy alert]There is a 'min-width' css tag set for the body of the page at 1247 pixels, therefore quite literally, the minimum width of the main page content (including some padding) is 1247 pixels[end techy alert]
Statistically, 85% of computer users now have widescreen displays, or screen resolutions at or above 1280 pixels, so assuming that forum users are representative of the wider computer using population, the new layout may be an issue for around 15% of users, c. 60 people. Source: Screen Resolution Statistics
The left and right columns are each 150 pixels wide with a total of approx 100 pixels of padding across the page, between the columns and at the page edges. This leaves 840ish pixels for the middle column which, as Tim suggests will accommodate photos of up to 800 pixels without further widening the page. |
