Chris Evans of Radio 2 is trying to organise a Carfest (bring the family) event/festival over the August Bank Holiday weekend

Still very early days yet but have sent an email expressing our interest in the event
Thought it might be something other club members would be interested in - there will be cars, stalls, bands and camping amongst many other things
We understand the event will be held at Jody Scheckter's Laverstoke Park Farm, Nr Basingstoke in Hampshire - some of you may know that name!
It is a charity event with profits going to Children In Need
As we have said, it is still very early days but if you are interested . . .

Sounds fab but unfortunately will be coming back from Spain that w/e (not in the van I hasten to add).

Over heard on the Chris Evans Breakfast Show this morning . . .

Camping will be for Friday and Saturday nights
There will be cars, all kinds of food and even buffalo ice cream?
They are booking the bands and the group Texas will head line the event
Chris was hoping to get a lot resolved by Easter so tickets would be available after then!

Sounds like it is coming together - def up for this one - and all the profit goes to Children in Need

Just been on to the site - states tickets are available from mid April - but no buy now?

There was an ad in the Sunday mail live mag, there is a ticket company dealing with it, I will post the details when I get home.

Just had a look at the ad, tickets go on sale this week subject to licence and range from £60 single day with children £10 to £170 2 adults 2 children for both days including camping, you will just have to keep checking the website @ carfest.org

Heard this morning on Chris Evans show, tickets go on sale tomorrow @8am. You can view what's on offer on the Children in need website beforehand.

All tickets are now sold out - they were all gone just after 8.00am this morning
(There were only 64 campervan/caravan permits available any way)
So unless you were one of the lucky few this event is now closed for booking

Sounds like it was very popular, doubt it will beat The Kombi Sleepover for atmosphere though!
