Is it easy to fit and how does it fit?
Does it have a thermal lining?

sorry all , not had much time recently to catch up with all on the forum. Off to cornwall next week...

very easy to fit. there is a corner flap inside each end just which hooks over the top corner of each door, and the cover pulls taught when the door shuts. No actual thermal lining, although the material is advertised as thermally insulating. Its a bit like neoprene.

That sounds good to me.

I've been emailing them over the last few days to get a custom one made Smile

They seem really nice to deal with.

We've had our cover arrive now and I'm impressed with it so far.

It fits perfectly, and is really well made. It's only a minute job to put on as well. I suppose the real test will come on Friday and Saturday at the sleepover though Very Happy

What happens if it's raining when you take it off and it's wet? Does it have a waterproof storage bag?

Yuck. Wet wetsuits are bad enough. Trying to bag something this big when wet, cold and clammy. And imagine how your camper will feel putting on a cold damp one that hadn't dried out...

no bag, but it seems to be treated with some kind of repellent so when its removed its not sodden.

Thanks for clearing that up SJE - you don't want more sodden kit in your BraziBay than you absolutely need to. Basketball

In my case I think I'd have replaced the -en with an -ing. Very Happy (Remembering to pack light, pack light, pack light. Oh BTW, my Motordome carpet arrived to day. So that's "pack light, pack light pack light" going through my head again)

I've been thinking of getting one of these for a while now.

Having been to some meets where people have similar ones fitted, I have noticed that if its a bit windy, the bottom edges seem to blow up, and get dislodged.

I was wondering, now that several members have had them for a while, how these ones perform, and if they do blow up, whether it would be worth fitting eyelets in the vicinity of the wing mirrors and wiper spindles so that you could use those ball eyelet thingies sold for attaching flags to poles.

I've had mine for a while now and haven't really noticed any problems with the bottom blowing up. Sure, the bottom most corner on either door may lift a little and let some light in, but not much. The tension in the cover is more than enough to keep the window covered and it won't lift off the front because of the wipers. From a privacy perspective, it's fine.

My only regret, for want of another way of putting it, is the fact that its on the outside. This means having to take it off (if its raining) and putting a rather large wet cover in the van when packing up. (Also having to go outside at all if not using an awning/sun canopy.) Though i suppose, if you're putting in a wet awning, a wet screen cover is fairly insignificant. I'd rather have easy fit (magnetic?) thermal blinds on the inside. Nicely colour coordinated blinds also look better, I think.

We've got the Magna Blinds which are great but it's very important to get the measurements right. I think ours are a little small and are getting more difficult to keep attached - Alison is thinking of getting some more magnets to aid fitting.

The front screen blind is definitely the most difficlut to fit and we're thinking of getting one of these outside cab covers to replace it. We really like Lilydub's one with the van name on it so we'll probably go for one like theirs, but with Absinthe on it.

Thanks for the info.

I was thinking of its added advantage of a frost cover. As I use Dizzy on a daily basis, the heated front screen is fine, but keeping the side windows clear has been a bit of a bind.

I tried one of those 12v fan heaters on the nearside window, but that is useless, and not having electric windows, you can't wind the nearside window down if the windows haven't cleared straightaway.

Try using Rain-X on the side windows Dizzy. Its slippery properties cause any water/moisture to blow off fairly swiftly with the movement of the vehicle.

Ours doesn't blow up at the front or sides unless you have gale force, but doesn't bother us if /when it does,we have internal curtain behind seats for overnight, for added privacy if reqd.it is really quite a tight fit so rarely moves , we found that the edging needed nikwaxing to stop water running in ,as water was following the edging, worked really well.as for the cover getting wet,it doesn't hold that much water ,and can be virtually dry (damp) when putting away,it does dry very quickly anyway,we have sometimes used a dry sack to be sure of no wet spots!!! In the van on way home.def rec them.
