Hurrah! A proper Brazilian forum for us wot loves Brazilians!

Sorry, me 'n' ma'am know nowt about how these things run or what holds them together, so we will be approximately zero use to any of you. We bring only endless questions.

That and a couple of pics of our pride and joy, which we have gushingly named "The Van". All totally stock so no real thrills for bus pr0n lovers, but here you go already.

Anyway, look forward to annoying you all with stupid questions, like "Where can I get non-rusting headlamp rims?".

BTW, thanks to the poster who uploaded the translated manual and service schedules. Worth the price of admission alone.

Thanks y'all :-)

Have indeed been using the Heritage chrome rims, but we live a pebble's throw from the sea and keep The Van outdoors. So probably heresy, but I'm looking to move away from the shinies and towards something a bit plastic-er.

Though I notice some folks here seem to have painted ones, which might be the way to go.

Greatings Bloke

Mine came with plastic rims, might want to have a chat with Danbury. Think they're shipped over with plastic ones, they should have a few knocking about.

As kiteman said, you can get silver painted plastic ones. Your van has the crome upgrade which means you have the crome bumpers, wing mirrors and light surrounds.
If you are looking to replace all the crome, rather than buying some from somewhere, i'm sure someone here would be interested in swopping their standard set of painted bumpers, plastic wing mirrors and light surrounds off their van for yours.

Yep - why don't you put a SWAP ad in the classified section? Seems like a good idea. Might be a bit problematic with those parking sensors I just noticed on your rear bumper though - not sure how many folks would have those. Do they work well - doesn't having the spare wheel on the back cause issues?

Sell me bumpers??? Wouldn't dream of it!!! :-0 The Mrs would kill me, apart from anything.

For some reason they seem to weather the sea air OK with a little cleaning -- just the headlamp rims that seem to rust the moment you look away.

Parking sensor is, shall we say, a little lively.

If you give the headlight rims a good coating of wax rather than chrome polish they should fair better. Something like Mer or even Meguiars Gold Class. If you Hammerite the back of them too that would help.

Hi Bloke, gave my old plastic rims away yesterday when Martin came to pick up our old bus. Don't think he really wanted them so when he first uses the forum you could ask him. alien

Hi Bloke,

Looking at your first image it looks as though you dont have a curtain in the cab area, is this the case? If so you can get a curtain made and secure it to the door pillar then along to the two windscreen pillars and back towards the opposite door pillar by using the poppers. We have this and it gives you more space in the van when you are on bed mode. I will try to send you through an image when I get Olive out at the weekend.

Good luck

Now that sounds just the job. I'm not skilled with a drill so have been putting off the curtain thing -- had vaguely planned to get A Man to sort out some rails at some point. Be good to see the thing you describe.

No worries but you dont need rails, use the poppers and when you take the curtain down you put it the curtain under the rear seat, if you have curtains on rails they gather around your neck and are irritating. Will take a few pics on Sunday and post them to you..... and dont worry its easy to fit them yourself........trust me I am useless @ DIY and I accomplished it.

Evening Bloke

Ooo, love your van, love the colour. I'm still waiting to have curtains, but have been using the thermal blind thingy's. They work ok, but don't look so good!

Definitely in the curtain camp here. Do have the silver thingies and yes, they work and are good when it's 20 below, but what a faff. And when I do them, it generally looks like a drunk robot did some wallpapering.

Wait till you see my images and you will see how easy it is, a lot beter than sticking the silver screens on with a lot more ease and no round marks on the windows in the morning..........I will try and post them tomorrow.
