Wood Burner / Stoves Firepits Empty
PostSubject: Wood Burner / Stoves Firepits   Wood Burner / Stoves Firepits EmptySun Oct 28, 2012 1:15 pm

When I was camping over at Brighton Breeze I piched near a chap who had one of these wood burners going. Great to able to get a real fire going, contained and not scorching the grass...

great concept but a one trick wonder I thought (heat + saucepans). I want to be able to grill...

I came across these today from sharkdesigns.co.uk and have enquired about prices

I've seen and researched those stoves before (the top one with the attached water heater) and thought about getting one. Great for heat and cooking on, as well as having hot water at the ready when needed. There advantage is their portability, as everything collapses and is stored inside the stove. Downside is it has a ruddy great big flue, though I suppose you don't have to have it all in. Also at £140 it's not cheap, and the water heater is an extra £80. Also, the beauty of having a fire is, well, the fire. With one of those you won't see the fire, just a hot metal lump.

But I'm still vaguely interested in one for cooking outside.

alternative is a Roadii

Id be tempted if they were half that price.

I'm sure that I've seen some of these pics before.........................................aah yes. The Wacky Races.

They look like they could power our vans, let alone cook our dinner on them.

That Roadii is very expensive for an old car wheel suspended between 3 poles!!! I reckon I could make one of those, Thinking of getting some alloys for the van .... I could make 4. at that price it would pay for the wheels. sorted!
