Would not be without them, lots of benefits. I leave our windows down an inch most of the time airs the van when standing also if raining at night drop the windows. Tim

How do you stop someone nicking them if you leave the windows down?

We have the metal ones. I like them but the quality of metal is not good. Our have rusted a bit. The just slide in at the top of the window. I think you can screw them in place but we just left ours wedged in. A tight fit
