Just put my deposit down on a 2009 t2 kombi - debating over the two Danbury steering retrofits direct drive rack and pinion vs speed sensitive power steering?
Just purchased our first t2 moving on from our somewhat unreliable t25 - but would like to pool some opinions on the rack an pinion steering option v the more expensive speed sensitive power steering both options supplied by danbury. Or is it worth leaving them both we'll alone . Cheers

Welcome to the forum
The people that have power steering love it. I on the other hand have the original setup using the steering box and am more than happy with it. Another option is to keep your original setup and get a litesteer power steering setup, have a search on here for litesteer

Welcome and congratulations on your forthcoming BraziBay ownership.
I've driven Kombis fitted with both the Danbury and Litesteer systems. They both do a great job of making the T2 an even more flexible daily driver.
It's really just down to which system you choose to fit and your budget of course.

With regard to the Direct Drive and Danbury PAS, as far as I'm aware you have to have the DD if you want the Danbury PAS - they work together.

Hi & Welcome Dare we ask what colour? On the power steering front . . . Scooby is not our daily driver so we have not explored such options We seem to get on OK without though

Tallulah now has Litesteer and we love it!
Before that, lots of hire customers commented on the 'heavy going' especially on longer journeys and close quarters manoeuvres (if not used to it) were very hard work.
She's a dream to drive now, absolutely worth the money.
