Cleaning the van and starting to getting it ready for a West of Scotland tour in three weeks time, I noticed a couple of wet oil patches on the driveway under the front of the van. Investigation found the steering box is leaking.......Nooooo, thats all I need.

As a family we knew what we were taken on when we bought the van new. I had it in mind when issues raised their head, I would upgrade or better the original item to give us a piece of mind.

First the exhaust went 3 weeks before van's first MOT, lifelong exhaust came to my rescue. The windscreen wipers popped off the mechanism on route to Danbury for its MOT which they kindly sorted out.

However, now for the steering. I contacted Neil at Lite-Steer to get advice where he explained he reconditions the original steering box during his power steering adaption. This was ideal as I have a partially disabled right arm and struggle at times with the van's heavy steering.

Neil came to the rescue and within a week he had it booked in, repaired and installed, with the power steering unit. Not only the steering but he fitted a magically bracket which now makes the brakes work 100 times better.

Wow what a different drive the van is and stopping it. Neil I only wished I knew about it sooner. Neil many many thanks and as discussed I will see you later in the year to lower the van.  Very Happy
