Unfortunately had to rough it in a cottage as youngest was 3 months old.
We stayed at Mylor Bridge at the head of the creek leading to Mylor and Falmouth.
Mylor Yacht Club
Some Beaches
Porthcurno, absolutely heaving
Gyllyingvase Beach, Falmouth
Holywell Bay with gull rock (where the shipwreck scenes in Jamaica Inn were filmed)
The stream alongside Holywell beach, safe for the kids.
Junior having his first toe in the water.
Whilst we were at the cottage, the air sea rescue helicopter landed on the green to pick up a doctor on a 'hurry-up' call out.
I think they must be like buses, come in threes, because lunchtime today, two landed in the field behind my house.

Sadly there is no campsite there now, nor any other campsite so near to the town. We did re-visit by staying at the hotel opposite Gyllingvase. This was a couple of years ago in late January. We noted that it was bad luck for the Christmas decorations to still be up in the Dining Room at that time. The hotel was destroyed by fire soon after. osg
