I live in the US- so probability is close to zero- sadly. I have come here as part of my research on putting a water-cooled engine in my '74 Westy. This is a great site ! Looking all around it, I have some great ideas. I have a Mexican radiator grill for the front. It looks a lot like these in here but is probably an earlier version.
I checked out Danbury's site and really wish I could get one of their campers !
I'm introducing myself because I will be asking some questions and figured an answer would be more likely if you know who I am
I have a Reimo Tour Action tent ( hard to get the States) and all my accessories are solar powered, including the Engel fridge.
I'm going to make a rear spare tire carrier like I've seen in here on "Olive's" (I think that's the name).
Anyway, thanks for having me. Mike

Hi there Mike, welcome aboard, would it be worth your while trying to get a new van from Brazil?

Thanks for the welcomes guys!
Irishman- Getting it across the border would probably be alot easier if I were an illegal alien! Really, the EPA won't allow it.

As Mike says, the U.S. regs now for new vehicles are far beyond the possibilities of the BraziBay. I've read posts on US forums where folk have suggested putting the chassis number of a Classic Bay onto the body of a Kombi as a means of getting round this but I don't think anyone has achieved it yet.

It's been done. I wouldn't attempt it though. I'm not the lucky type.
I'm going to put an (American) Ford Ranger engine in mine. It's a 2.3 L. Already have the conversion kit. I have to get my '71 single cab going before I put the Westy down for reconstruction and facelift.

I know how you feel Mike .... so many jobs so little time! Not that it's quite the same but I've had a set of led lights I've been meaning to stick in the rear of my Bay for nearly a year now. Did the cab area last summer - still haven't gotten round to doing the rear of the cabin! I spend too much time on the web!!
