Norfolk

Off to Norfolk for a week, can anyone recomend some good campsites, doesn't matter where as I'm doing a bit of a tour, just as long as they're in Norfolk somewhere.

Hi Kiteman,

Try Burnham Deepdale on the north norfolk coastline. I went there May bank holiday and it was great. I put a post in earlier this year.

Southwold have a council funded campsite on the beach, the facilities are not too good however you are 100 yards from the sanddunes.

Aldeburgh have a site but its a bit pricey

Wells Next The Sea I think its called pinewoods, reasonable site with good faciliites.

As per my earlier mail I can also recommend Pinewoods campsite in Wells by the sea Norfolk, right by the beach, good sized pitches with hook ups, shop, cafe and small childrens playgound on site, lovely estuary footpath walk (3/4 mile) into the delightful town (or take the minature railway), some good eating places and great harbour for the kids to go crabbing! Also there is a boating lake adjacent to the site.

I ws there a few weeks back (third time i have visited it), staying in the "Tern" area,

Thanks for that guys, Pinewood was charging £30 a night so decided to scrap them. Deepdale were fully booked shame because that looked like really nice site,
So am staying at Rose Farm, Great Yarmouth for a few days as it's central to everything, then off to Kings Lynn Caravan & Camping Park for the rest of the week.
Everywhere was pretty booked up as it was the week leading up to the bank holiday so grabbed what we could.

Just got back from Norfolk. Took 7.5hrs to drive the 200 miles to get there, due to muppets who can't drive on a straight road going in the same direction as everyone else and still manage to hit another car One on the M25 and the other on the M11, sitting in both of them for 1hr each.

Managed to dodge most of the bad weather, majority of the rain was of a night time so managed to get out and about during the day, windy as hell though. In the end stopped using the awning as I don't think it would have survived during the day without the van there to help shelter it.

Rose Farm is an awesome site. They have a family camping area with playground and heated toilet block, then the sites with the electric hook up and at the top of the site normal camping, these both share another heated toilet and shower block. If you park at the far end of the field it's about a 3 minute walk to the toilet block but it is lovelly and quiet, wasn't a problem until it started really raining hard of a night time, all I can say is thank heavens for the 'travel john'.

Kings Lynn started out really bad. Very poor toilet and shower facilities and right next to the A47, so there was traffic noise all night. On the second day however their new facility was opened and this was much better, wasn't heated though which was a bit of a shame.

All in all had a good week.

Saw three Brazzies on the drive there and back, all watercooled. Plus even got the thumbs up from a guy in a Farrari
