Emission Zones in Europe - The rise of the plakettes!

While planning this summer's trip to the continent it was highlighted to me that if you are driving to many German cities now you need an LEZ sticker (plakette) in your window or face an 80e fine! There are some websites selling these for 40 quid but thanks to herr Google I discovered that if you buy one in one German city they apply to them all... And Berlin council sells them for 6 euros! The link is www.berlin.de/labo/kfz/dienstleistungen/feinstaubplakette.shop.en.php. Helpfully my watercooled Brazi got an Euro 4 green Plakette so I can now wander without fear.

Apparently Italian cities have introduced the same measures. Everywhere else seems limited to vehicles over 3.5t.
Hope this helps other folks planning for a kombinental tour this year...

yes in germany you must have the sticker on the glases from the car in many citys.
the price is 5-6 euro. you could buy it at:
TÜV, Dekra, GTÜ and in the offices from the citys.
