Help please - critique my Blog

I've got someone working on updating the design of my Blog. They haven't finished yet but I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Personally, I'm not sure I like it.

I like it
Easy to read font and broke up nicely with some good pictures
Maybe a picture of your van on first viewing as a header/logo would be good
What don't you like about it. I don't read too many blogs so can't compare to much sorry
One I do like is Shannon's kitchen but avoid if you don't like swearing or healthy food

The page looks great! The only thing that could do with changing is the title banner, it needs more pazazz.

I agree with the above, the title banner is too plain.

My only criticism would be the background looks too cluttered, take your eyes away from the writing

Our comments are as follows:
The title banner needs to stand out more - as said by others.
The background pictures doo take your eye away from the text - as said by others.
We would suggest you have a home page as the full page explaining the Blog.
We would suggest only have one topic per page, not scrolling down in to another topic.
We like seeing plenty of pics in a blog  . . . says a thousands words and all that.

Thanks everyone for your comments. They fit in with my initial thoughts. The "designers" haven't finished yet so I'll wait to see their final offering before making them change things.

Agree with most of the comments above. Scooby is right - it would be great to have some sort of a home page. Nice panoramic photo with Absinthe for a top panel would be great.

I like the fact that your pictures take up the majority of the layout - visually looks great!

Looks great, top job...

Here are our comments Abs:

Nice and bright with plenty of images.
We doo like the various functions you have added too.
For us though the title would need to stand out a little more/be larger.
You have three blogs to the first page, we would prefer to see only one per page.
We would put a blog title first before any photos.
Details about Absinthe is on the top menu with the same info on the RHS of the first page.
We would have the blog archive nearer the top of the first page.

Apart from the above personal preferences we think it looks FAB.
We know our blog is no where near the level you are setting, but we hope the above will be of assistance.

Thanks Scooby. One of the issues is that we're working within the constraints set by Blogger so I've not been able to set it up exactly as I wanted.

It's also hard to get it exactly right on all hardware such as PC, Phone, Tablet, etc. I think it'll have to do for now.
