Subject: moving seats back and stereo system Wed Mar 25, 2015 8:45 pm
Hi, We've got a couple more questions.
Does anyone have any experience, or advice about, how to move front seats back a few inches? As Al is tall (6ft7in) and currently he's a little cramped up when driving which would be resolved by pushing seat back a few inches.
Also we'd like to put a stereo system into the van. Is this straight forward? Can we go to any garage to get this done?
Many thanks
Lori and Al

Do you mean moving the seat back further than the normal runners will allow or just 'moving them back' on the runners?

Get any new ICE wired to the leisure battery circuit not the starter battery. That way you can keep the tunes going 24/7 without fear of stranding yourselves with a flat battery.

Hi Tim, Yes I mean moving them back further than normal runners will allow. There is space behind seat to go back but runners stop this happening. Thanks Lori Ps cheers for stereo advice

Land Rovers have the same problem (only worse) and there is a company called Mud Stuff (google them) - they do seat runner extensions. They are basically just two lengths of square steel tube. You bolt them under the runner so the runner is slightly higher and further back. They are so effective that main dealers started stocking them.
Probably won't fit directly but might give you inspiration.
