| I'm definitely not wanting to dilute support for the Eastern Activity meeting but, as we've taken the decision that's it too far for us to travel at Easter, I'd like to float the option for members from a more northerly geography to get together up here.
Hopefully, those who have already decided to go to Norfolk have declared their interest by now and I'm safe to publish this post. The other event has been planned for a while so I really don't want to tread on anyone's toes.
We're thinking of heading, either to Silverdale (the site of the Northern Meet in 2014), or to Torver near Coniston, for a few days at Easter.
The site in Silverdale is: Link: Gibraltar Farm
In Torver, we'd be looking at staying behind the Link: Church House Inn, which has it's own small site.
I haven't checked availability yet nor is anything cast in stone - I'm just testing the water to see if anyone is interested. It won't be organised - just a few beers and a couple of walks probably.
Anyone in t'North reet for it?
PLEASE NOTE A CHANGE OF VENUE (MAINLY BECAUSE I LEFT IT TOO LATE TO BOOK THE SITES I'D SUGGESTED!)
We're booked into the Caravan & Camping Club Site at Hayfield on the Peak District from Thurs 24th March to Tues 29th March on a Grass pitch with hook up.
The full adress is: Hayfield Camping and Caravanning Club Site, Kinder Road, Hayfield, High Peak, Derbyshire, SK22 2LE ________________________________________________________________________________ Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder

| We'd be up for this if we had a van , but it's likely to be April before we're mobile again - hopefully in time for the Eskdale DubFest. ________________________________________________________________________________ "You can check out any time you like but you can never leave"

| ive been to Hayfield before and its good. They have grass pitch field as well as hard standing. There is a pub 5 min walk away for a pub in the village of Hayfield 10 min walk away. Also. some great walks around.
I dont want to take over your plans for sites, just an option to consider if they arent available

| Simon (Skooby) - I've just been reading your Blog from 2013 with photos from around Hayfield and Kinder Scout. I hope you're going to plan a walk for us over Easter. ________________________________________________________________________________ Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder

| I don't only do pubs. In fact, I'd rather do spectacular views than any pub. ________________________________________________________________________________ Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder

| We've booked from Thursday to Saturday. All hookup pitches are booked for Saturday night, so we've wimped out. We'll probably drive over on Sunday and/or Monday anyway, because it's quite close to us. The site doesn't open until March 17th, so we couldn't investigate the possibility of using a splitter cable. | |

| We could meet up somewhere on Sunday for a walk or a NT property, although I guess it'll be busy.

Lyme Park is nearby, and there are some nice walks around the reservoirs at Tintwistle. http://www.walksfromthedoor.co.uk/i/walks/Derbyshire/Tintwistle/BullsHead.pdf Plenty of options, and we can see what the weather is like.

Think this will apply to all Easter Actvities - whether you be in the North or in Norfolk ________________________________________________________________________________ Proud winners of Spike's Trophy 2017 Scooby - Born To Run

| The weather looks "mixed" for the Northern Easter weekend - Good Friday looks dry at the moment with showers on the other days. Typical BH weather I guess.
It'll be good to get the season started. ________________________________________________________________________________ Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder
