I know the feeling. When we broke down in France a couple of years ago we ended up getting a hire car home and left the van (full of wine) to get fixed & then flew back out to bring her home 2 weeks later. Fortunately the European AA cover paid for it all.

I brought it about 6/7 weeks ago and having few bits done like new engine and then mot but she failed on steering which seems something to do with king pin seized but that's nearly sorted bits being ordered as we speak once that's done back in for re test so heading over again next week to collect fingers crossed

what had the previous owners done to your van to get it in such poor shape? knackered steering, busted engine etc??

I think they run it out of oil or wrong oil so had to have a new engine fitted and yeah steering was (deleted) it broke down on last owner so I think he just left it and the king pin seized up, it's a bit scabby around the arches as well so new paint next but I am going to wait till spring to do that I just want to use it

I'm assuming you bought this from a private buyer?
