| Hi there, I have just joined this group after buying a recently imported Brazilian VW Bay micro bus. On the NOVA scheme and booking it in for an IVA (vehicle inspection) next week and will hopefully be on the road in a month or so's time!
I am looking for the best place to get a pop top roof fitted- as it is currently a tin top- and also where to go to get a rock n roll bed and rear facing bench set fitted in or near Bristol. Any recommendations? Looking for basic (wooden?) seats with belts fitted that I can add foam cushions to and do the upholstery myself- I am a textiles teacher by trade.
What are the best garages in North Bristol? Also further down the line considering doing a duck egg blue respray myself. Any advice?! ________________________________________________________________________________ Picolalola. x

| Welcome - I'd focus on getting through the IVA before moving on to the conversion side of things. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |

| Hi Picolalola Welcome to THE Forum for Brazi bays. Sounds like you have plenty of plans ahead of you. If you are on the road by 12th May weekend why not try and come along to our Kombi Sleepover - see the Meet Ups and Events Section. There are 30 or so bookings so far - plenty of owners and vans to see and discuss. With regard to the pop top we have an on-line auction item for money off a 'Westfalia' type roof as an alternative - offered by our friends at Space Roofs - see the General Discussion Section - Auction Item 3. Might be worth considering if you wish to stand out from the crowd - most Brazi Bays have the Danbury pop top. Hope to see you out and about in due course. | Thanks, that's making me feel nervous about the IVA! Fingers crossed it won't be tricky. How does the auction work- finding it hard to navigate this site! ________________________________________________________________________________ Picolalola. x

| Hi Picolalola,
I second what Tim has said, get the Kombi through IVA first.
When you have been through your test there will be some items that it will fail on that we can do for you such as heated windscreen, seat belt mounts etc.
Many Thanks
Ian
