Hi all, we have a 2006 air cooled bay called "Bessie" who for various reasons hasn't been used for 3 years and has been SORN for the last year. Started browsing the forum and decided to get Bessie through the MOT, clean her up in and out and actually use her this summer, now the kids are 'independent..." as we used to enjoy taking off at a whim when work allowed. Van has only done 50,000 km in her life and the MOT used to be straight forward, not this time as there are holes in both silencers and the exhaust is pretty ropey giving a fail. Easy I thought, rang up a couple of suppliers and realised the exhausts are a. Seriously expensive, and b. In short supply. We are not in the game for £700 stainless exhausts + vat, this makes for an expensive couple of trips to Norfolk, may as well stay in the Holste! Returned to this forum and saw that Brazilianvwbay used to have an option, is this the case still? Would be great if it is as we could then get mobile again. Everything else, even the heater after nearly 2 years inactivity, is perfect and she started first pull too with jump leads! Any advice / direction greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I think that the club deal for a stainless steel exhaust is £369 inc VAT from Longlife Swansea. You might be able to negotiate a deal with a closer branch, e.g. Ipswich, Peterborough, Watford.

Welcome!
I believe the price includes fitting at LL Swansea or delivery so can have it delivered direct to you or a local garage who can fit it for you.

Hello and welcome to the forum. I have a 2004 air-cooled Brazilian bay. Last year I got a whole new exhaust from VW heritage with the appropriate bits n bobs and I did not find it expensive plus it was available and came within a day of ordering.
I expect you will find the only thing hard to get is hub caps if you have the original steel wheels. I know that sounds flippant but honestly I have not had any issues getting parts, panels etc for the van.
Good to have another air cooled on board.
