Parts from Brazil Empty
PostSubject: Parts from Brazil   Parts from Brazil EmptyWed Oct 30, 2019 6:35 pm

Hi guys
I'm getting two kombis from Brazil in a couple weeks time and I'd like to bring over some parts too. Could you guys please let me know which parts are hard to find in the UK. Any help will be very appreciated.
Many thanks, Marco Silva.

PostSubject: Re: Parts from Brazil   Parts from Brazil EmptyThu Oct 31, 2019 12:25 pm

Hi Marco.
What a great idea. Few parts I'm in need of
Tailgate.
Engine lid
Radiator
Sliding window securing clips

Few other things that are hard to source in UK (watercooled)
Gearbox
ECU
Fuel injectors
Ignition leads
Fuel pump/guage
Immobiliser box
Steering arms/components
Steering box
Gear stick
Nose cones / seals

I'll let you know if I think of any more.

Luke

Definitely exhausts and the in-tank fuel pump/sender units for water and air cooled - about the quarter of the price in Brazil

Fuel Injectors/rails for the air cooled engines are also difficult to source.

Personally I wouldn’t bother with Brazilian made exhausts. They last 18 months. Get a stainless steel system fitted.

I was lucky to get extensive history on my 2003 air-cooled and 2010 water-cooled vans, both exhausts are stamped and appear to be originals............

I would get a stainless if no other alternative were available, but they don't seem to be readily available either.  If you've got the original stamp/part numbers (they are effectively sections of stock exhausts?) then i'd try to get them here in the first instance, or ones sourced from Brazil.

Stainless are readily available at Longlife centres across the U.K. They just make you a custom system. This is the only part other than watercooled pipes that I suggest is fitted in preference to OEM.

There are only a handful of Longlife centres across the UK, my nearest is a 60 mile round trip and if they are custom I assume they have to have your van for a while?

How much do they cost?

Circa £400 fitted now. Yes, takes a couple of hours. One Time application though with improved performance and running. No brainer imo.

Ah, for £400 I would agree - that's actually cheaper than the two sections of stock exhaust at the usual suspects.

Is that for a water cooled or air cooled?

Hi get some fual filters ( the normal round ones not injection filter) if it's a Air cooled one your getting they seem to be impossible to get in the UK... If you could get me 2 I would appreciate it I can transfer cash straight to your bank would be really appreciated, some one told me to get a 1.6saxo one instead but it's way to small to fit properly

Hi Marco

Could we have an update on what parts made it onto your container from Brazil?

Did you manage to get the few things for me?

Thanks
