Hi
I can recomend the Kyam quick erect awning.
I got mine from Lightnig leisure ( at the camper jam ) they are on the net too.
It cost £250.00 but it is money well spent in my opinion.
As it takes about 10 minutes to erect so very quick & easy to do.
If your useing it on a Brazilian bay you will need an additional set of poles & clips to fit to the van gutter ( £20.00 Lightning leisure )
It is brilliant as it gives you much more space love it.
You can even see a vidio demo on the internet google fishbrain & that site will run a demo.
Very best regards.
Nick

Reimo tourmobil 5 or 6 are great if you want a really sturdy awning - but I am not sure how easy they are to get in the UK

we also use an easycamp venice which was quite cheap about equiv of 120 pounds and has done about 14 weeks over 2 years o about 7 quid a week aint bad

though anywhere south of the vendee we tend to use a tarp unless it is really lashing down

I've got the Just Kampers Spacemaker that came with my van. It's ok as a place to throw stuff out of Max to give me more space but I'm not impressed with its ability to keep the rain out. It collects water in each corner and then drips in pretty quickly. I'm planning on getting a new awning for this season and it will definitely be of the arched variety to take water ingress out of the equation.

My favourite awning at present are:

reimo bigvan ii

duck egg blue! 93656_popup

or the reimo vis a vis

duck egg blue! 90683_popup

both fit type 2 ok and in Europe are fairly easy to get hold of but are 399 and 369 euro respectively

and improtantly very stable and really water resistant

Hi

We also use a Kyham awning (ours is a tourer if I remember correctly). They're very good and easy to put up and down and can be done by one person in minutes, also very sturdy in strong winds.

Sometimes if its just for a weekend we also use a tarp set up (similar to belgiumbay) as lining up your van to the awning can be a pain in the arse, especially if you have to do it a couple of times a day!

Or if we're touring around we just use a small outhouse/toilet tent to just chuck our stuff in during the day, whilst we're out and about. Takes up very little space and even quicker to put up that our kyham.

I think I'll be getting a Khyam Tourer before long. Seem very popular and out of stock mostly at the mo which speaks volumes. Pity they don't do them in red Cool

Well I'm definitely going to Volksworld so will catch up with you there Very Happy

The car park is huge at Sandown so maybe you'd like to meet somewhere nearby and we can cruise in together? I'll put this suggestion on the events page.

Alex at Just Kampers mentioned to me this week that they're launching a new range of tents/awnings this March. I liked the look of the recent Spacemaker so hopefully it'll be similar.
