| One of the things I enjoy most about owning my Kombi is that you can mix up the old and new - and it just seems to work. Have you seen the new trend in wiper blades - these Aero Blade things? They appeared around 2003 (they were fitted to my ex's Golf of that year) and they do look cool and work well.
I'm wondering if you can get a set to fit the BraziBay? I'm going to investigate. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

| I've fitted them to my other cars, but they always seemed to only fit the wiper arm if it is a hook type, so a bit of modyfing would be required for a BraziBay, unless the whole wiper arms could be replaced with a hook type?
More investigation me thinks also.

| Ive got them on mine... the ones I used had a universal fixing that fits on pretty much any arm... either hook ends like on most cars, pin type, or just the flat bar arms like on our bays. | |

| They are made by a company called Trupart although some people just call it TP, the ones I have are the TVF40R.
They seem to work really well, but wipers always do when they are new!

| I've fitted the aero wipers after getting back from holiday yesterday. They seem to hug the windscreen a lot better than the old style although the driver side one doesn't fully bend with it. There is about 1cm of over hang which is still less than the old style The multi-adapter fitted the bayonet arms perfectly 10 seconds of clipping in and they were done When we squirted the screen wash the difference was noticeable straight away. These are much much better than the old style ones, and were streak free from the off. They were silent too, although most new wipers are I suppose. We will give them a proper test when we have the MOT (next Monday) to make sure they are ok coping with a bit of wind (and maybe rain) Not bad for less than £17 a pair from here. ________________________________________________________________________________ | |

We still have the 1cm over hang, which isn't too bad, but the wipers seem pretty decent to be honest. Are you tempted to go aero? - yabbit wrote:

Fillmore certainly has his advantages, I'm sure we've used him to wipe the windows before

| We had no overlap, they run together spot on and I don't think they come close to contact.
They are a bargain for £10.99!!

| I have got them, very easy to fit, not been out in heavy rain yet, but they certainly work better with the washers and in light rain | |

| We've fitted these on our MX5 and MINI, they're great wipers, much quieter and great at high speed.
I think a set will be required for the camper now!

| I'm not sure why anyone who has bought these hasn't responded. But anyway, I have yet to try a set of these as the blades on Max are relatively new and of the regular type so I don't need a set .... yet. However to help you guys requiring them out, I've done some research .... The standard size of wiper blade on our BraziBay is 16". I believe - emphasis on 'believe' - that the fitting is called a 'bayonet.' Therefore if you click on the following link it should take you to wiperblades.co.uk's site and the right blade. You'll need 2 the same. I suggest you phone them to confirm this is correct for a wiper arm that has a square end with a small locating stud to lock the blade in place. Wiperblades 16" flat blade Let me know how you get on please? ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |

the wipers that are discussed initially are these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390214552821&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT I bought them (as a set are 1x16" and 1 x18") they come with a 'multi fit' adaptor which after some working out (the instructions are rubbish) I fitted fine on the bayonet with stud are that I have. The shorter blade for the drivers side (RHD for me), still overhangs by by about 4 cm - that is it doesnt adhere to the glass for the last 4 cm - although thats no worse than the originals ! hope this helps - for £11.99 I'm happy.
