| Good stuff ST - I just ordered a set from wiperblades.co.uk - £18 delivered methinks.
You ought to spin that spare wheel carrier so that the clip is at the bottom - that way any water that collects inside will drain out below rather than staying inside the cover and festering. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

| Good point about spare wheel carrier, I have just began to notice everyone has there's at the bottom. It needs trimmed anyway to fit my spare alloy they are not meant to overlap like that also. The fittings will need moved aswell I suspect and the disc cut. Only another 1000 jobs to complete before the Sleepover | |

| They haven't arrived yet olive. Rest assured once I confirm they fit correctly I'll post the details. I don't want folks reading this ordering stuff that may not fit. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |

| Update: the blades I ordered from wiperblades.co.uk DO NOT FIT.
I've emailed them photos of the original fitment to see if they have something compatible.
Skytiger: do you happen to know the description of the fitting you used? Did the pack contain various options? Is there a code on the one you used? ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

The description was for a Bayonet Arm - TimV wrote:

Yes for Hook arm and Bayonet Arm - TimV wrote:

The code for the fitting was A-5B it can just be seen in my "After" pic but not sure if this is GOODYEAR's code or a universally used one.

| olive - yes that's the one - they don't fit.
ST: thank you.
I'll see if wiperblades.co.uk can come up with something. Failing that I'll hunt down some Goodyears. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

| Wiperblades.co.uk cannot supply an aero blade with the correct fitting.
I suggest trying to source the same 16" Goodyear blades Skytiger bought from Costco. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

| There you go then ... not as cheap as Skytiger was able to get them, unless you have a Costco card. Maybe this entrepreneurial ebayer does! You'll need 2 and 16" in length.
Goodyear wiper blades via eBay. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

| Or, now I've been doing some housekeeping and joined up some topics, based on pastymaster's success with his order I've now ordered these:
16/16 Aero Blades
Will see how they go ..... ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

| The offer price at Costco finished today and you were only allowed a max purchase of ten which I used up with my cars, family and friends.
They will still be available at the £6.95 a blade if anyone wants a pair I could bring them to the Kombi Sleepover.

| The new Aero Wiper Blades I ordered from the same place as pastymaster via Ebay turned up today. Here's how I fitted them: The fitting on our Kombis is known as 'bayonet' - essentially there's a little spigot on the wiper arm and underneath it is a similarly shaped hole. The fitting on the blade has a hole that the spigot locks into and then underneath a small sprung lever that locks into the hole on the wiper arm. Old wiper blades removed, the fit into the new blades was very tight, so I elected to take off the wiper arms, fit the blades and then put the arms back on my Kombi. I used a small flat screwdriver to keep the sprung lever down whilst sliding the arm into the blade until it locked into position. Wiper arms back on their spindles - it's a 10mm spanner that you need for that btw and don't over tighten, you don't want to strip those spindles - and the new blade's effectiveness was tested. The blade on the offside still sits 'off' the screen in the parked position as others have found, but the improvement in clearing water off the screen is vast. Here's the link to the supplier again: 16/16 Aero Blades ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |
