I've been a member since I was 17 and whenever I have needed them they have been superb.
When my old Audi had an alternator issue recently the RAC man showed up and remarked 'you're that chap with that lovely van aren't you?!'
Highly recommended.

i cant be as generous about the rac as not long after owning my van i broke down on the a34 near oxford with a snapped belt, so rung them up and told them the story and they said an hour which was fair enough, after 45 minutes the rac van drove straight passed me, i thought he must ahve missed me as was on a bit of a bend and would go to next junction and come back but no another hour passed so i rung them back and they said i wasnt at the location id told them and the guy couldnt find me! so i told them exactly where i was again and this time he found em but stood in front of me and swore i hadnt been there the first time! he ahd a belt that would fit but couldnt figure out how to fit it even after id explained it to him! so i ended up doing it myself. i wrote a letter of complaint to the rac but never got any form of response from them
