| Has anybody come across a decent solar USB charger that I can use to charge the phones while we are away camping. The iPhone battery isn't the best so it would be nice to get a top up while away. Any ideas anyone? ________________________________________________________________________________ | |

| Thanks Baydreamer, I've just had a look and spotted this one.
It looks like it has good reviews so I will give one a go! ________________________________________________________________________________ | |

| We ought to get a discount at Maplins the amount of kit we get from them! ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |

| I'll tell her you said that. If you want to know a bigger secret, she bought the camper before she knew me. We've been living together for over 5 years though so I'm claiming it as mine now So she set me down the route of the BraziBay and Maplins ________________________________________________________________________________ | |

| Well I went and bought one today and I have to say it looks like an impressive bit of kit. I've done the first charge on my laptop, and the charger is now charging the iPhone with no problems. Hopefully I'll get a bit of sun tomorrow to see if the 'solar' bit works. ________________________________________________________________________________ | |

| Looks good. Does this work by charging its own battery - that then charges the I phone? | |

| ive noticed a large solar power slab on offer for £49 in maplins that might be useful for some to place on the back seat whilst camping etc or on your drive? might be worth a look.... it appears to have crodile leads from the poster advertising it. the reason i pick these up is that i stop at the lights every morning and read the lastest posters on the shopfront!!! hahahaha | |

| You've got it spot on Jason. It charges it's own battery so you can charge the phone whenever. I'm still impressed with this so far, although the real test will come in a few weeks. You can charge the battery of the solar charger through USB on your computer before you leave so you can have at least one good charge even if the weather is pants ________________________________________________________________________________ | |

| Well now I've used this for a while I can officially confirm its pants! Its good to get a full charge after you've stuck it on the laptop but the solar side of it is a bit poor. I had it out for a full day in strong sunshine (behind glass is not the best I know) and got about 3 minutes charge. Ahh well ________________________________________________________________________________ | |

| I think to get anything worth while you need to spend a bit of money, when it comes to solar technology, you get what you pay for. ________________________________________________________________________________ Ginger man without a ginger van | |

| I certainly agree Kiteman, you do normally get what you pay for with cheap tech. ________________________________________________________________________________ | |
