| Some Apple products don't work 100% with our forum's software. It's normally when a user attempts to write a message - the browser can shut down randomly. A way round this is to download the free browser app Opera and use that rather than Safari to use the site. I've been using it for 24hrs now and all seems good.
Thanks to lostlogik for the info about Opera. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

| I must say I never had problems using IOS 4 but these issues arose once I updated to IOS 5. New software = New problems. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |

Always but then that's half the fun of being first in line. There have been times however when I've wish I hadn't been so keen to have the latest and supposedly greatest. And it also teaches you the importance of backups, a lesson I learnt the hard way (don't we all?).

| That'll be the auto correction (auto annoy) feature you get with ios 5.1 ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

Now you can't go blaming iOS auto correction for that. It must've been auto correcting something else that you'd written (that was very wrong) to have put that in. So I reckon Tim's comments stands

| It corrected an* to and rather than any and I think you'll find it's a spelling error, not a grammatical one. ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

| Touché (although even if the an* correction was a spelling error, the resulting clause is grammatically incorrect.) | |

Yes, Safari mobile really seems to muck things up on this forum. As an alternative, try Opera (free d/l) instead.

| I admit that I'm slightly more technical than some when it comes to computers etc, but I've never had a problem with the forum on either my smartphone (iPhone) or iPad. ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

I won't profess to having career level knowledge but would like to think I have a good grasp. However I do have issues with mobile safari on this site. Not always, and not consistently but frequently enough to be a pain. Symptoms include inability to enter text in reply boxes, text boxes locking after a certain amount has been entered, non response of touch, threads auto-jumping to top no matter how much I try and scroll down. These are just a few of the main problems and strangely it only happens on this site. I've not come across it anywhere else. So I tend to use Opera when visiting this site, Safari anywhere else.

| At present having to do everything on my iPad as we are waiting for our stuff to arrive in Korea - should be 72 boxes tomorrow at 15:00 local time to go up 11 floors and through 4 sets of card operated doors. Glad we have movers rather than me.
Anyway - I find safari much better under ios5 than any of the earlier iterations, but have been playing with running forums, though not here yet through moodle ez app. Designed really for moodle but anything that uses php or Asp scripts seems to render ok. Certainly seems to handle sites runing SQL database structures
So don't see why it wouldn't make a good job of any phpBB site - might try later

Whilst I sympathise, I'm glad I'm not the only one. Means it wasn't "just me".
