| The eyelids came from the web. I'm pretty sure I got the link from here somewhere but I've had them for many months so I'm not sure who the suppliers were. ________________________________________________________________________________ Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder

| Doors look great, so does the dog. Is that Velcro on your glovebox lid? What do you use that for? | |

| Olive - it's what I use to fit the iPad when I use it as Satnav. Very sensibly, I never leave it in the van though. ________________________________________________________________________________ Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder

| My neighbour's just been round with his bodyshop bill for fitting. Best £75 I've spent.
He said they were the devil to fit and thinks the eyelids may not stay in forever. Very fiddly job to fit the door cards apparently, particularly the clips. ________________________________________________________________________________ Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder

Did you not show him my videos? Beg to differ I'm afraid - I think they're very straightforward to fit. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

| It was fiddling with the clips that created the work I think. I know better than to tell a professional how to do his job! ;-) ________________________________________________________________________________ Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder

| NC fitted my front doors for me but I recently fitted all of the rear panels and I found it straightforward if I took my time. Great idea with the iPad | |

| Sharps - the cards are from Newton Commercials - ordered them at Volksworld - they're not leather but the seats are and are Danbury's own.
I really like the steering wheel - added it to the spec at the last minute as a surprise for Mrs B. I understand they can be bought more cheaply than getting it from Danbury though! ________________________________________________________________________________ Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder

| Having had a short respite from being 'bank of dad', I have decided to join in and spend some money on myself for a change. Today I ordered door cards and a steering wheel.
With the help of Tims door card video, and Skytigers write up on the steering wheel install, I'm going to give it a go myself as well, mainly because I want to do the waxoying on the inside panels at the same time. (Hope the weather warms up soon).
I'm also tentatively considering chrome door handles, all round, but it means sourcing them from different suppliers to get the complete set.
Can anyone advise me if I am right in thinking the ones from 73 to 79 Bays are the same as our Brazilians. (They look the same in the pictures.)

| Hi dizzy I have chrome handles from mcj which are the ones I think you refer to. They don't fit in the same holes as the plastic ones but when we removed the door cards we managed to get them fitted with using an existing hole and a bit of drilling. If the door cards you buy have pre cut holes for the black handle I wouldn't go for the chrome handles we have. I don't know if there are different types that would fit our vans existing holes. I thought like most jobs it would be a simple off and on but no. We used the old black cover as a template and fitted the new handles to that first. Good luck | |

| Thanks Marcus, looks like I need to do some more research.
I was looking at the internal sliding door handle from mcj (only they seem to do one) and internal finger release and surround from C and C.
C and C and VW Heritage seem to do the other outside handles between them.
