| In process of changing all my cards, all going well have fitted central locking on front doors but also insulating panels with a silver foil insulation. One thing I did notice may be the year 2010 but the window handles differ from Tim's they are held on with a plastic clip, you have to push the clip out (which is the plastic ring behind the handle). Tim
PS Newtons quality and workmanship is superb.

| The later style window handles are from 2008-ish onwards. As suggested grip the body and slide up the rear section to remove. NB Kombis using this type of winder have different regulator mechanisms specifically the spigot the handle connects to. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |

| Thanks Dennis and Tim, been wondering for ages how to get them off. Now found a couple of videos on youtube as well. - TimV wrote:

Having taken it off, I see what you mean about the spigot, no screw hole. Does this mean you can't fit aftermarket winders to post 2008 Brazi's without drilling and tapping the spigot.

| Might try that if all else fails, drilling and tapping not the end of the world, just a pain. Probably then find that the splines are wrong anyway. Have found some that fit a T4 with a similar fitting, so I'll be having a closer look to see if they are compatible when I get back in tonight | |

| Took delivery today of some T4 T5 window winders. I bought them to see if they fit post 2008 Brazi's. They are identical, and do fit, but quality not as good as originals. But for £3.95 you get what you pay for I suppose.
I'm going to have a play around with some chrome paint as Tim suggested, but my main aim was to check the fit, and then see if I can get proper chrome ones designed for the T4/T5 at a later date.

| Just got my new computer, and just about having mastered windows xp, now trying to get my head around windows 8 So in way of finding out if I can post photos here goes. Picture of original with securing ring pushed up. Picture of rear of original on left, and one from T4/T5 on right, and although I said the quality was not as good, to be fair its only the securing ring that is a bit more flexible. Picture of the replacement after a couple of coats of chrome paint (used a coat of adhesion improver first, but could do with a couple more coats) | |
