| Hey Guys Having given it some thought and based on the replies above, think we should perhaps forget about a 'group purchase' at present. | Hey ho - good work though - back to my old kids play parachute idea! Batgirl seems to have repaired her sewing machine so - onward and upwards. I will get some waterproofing solution from the local camping shop - it's the stuff used on Kyam tents and is darn good. | |

| Just received an email from Funky Leisure and the expected delivery date of their new 2012 sun canopies has been put back to 20th August due to manufacturing delays.
Understandably, they are very disappointed. ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

| Get a tarp of ebay and clamp one end to the gutter and use the door poles from the awning to lift the other end. That's what I've done as a temp measure until Funky Leisure get theirs in. ________________________________________________________________________________ Ginger man without a ginger van | |

| Hi Tim
For three years we used an adapted - tarp from decathlon. We used the uprights and then a spare gutter pole from campershop.co.uk and gutter clips
We run the gutter pole through the tarps own end and mid loops but also machine sewed two more loops so that we had 5 on that side. To waterproof any sewing into nylon just ad a small dap of silicone sealant just before sewing so that it is sandwiched between the tabs and tarp as it dries it fills the holes which is basically what north face do on their exped range of tents
This worked brilliantly for three years. We bought a funky leisure one in orange last year and it was ok as it is bigger but what we found with all the canopies that have sewn tunnels for the gutter pole is that any moisture really then collects in the gutter with tab loops we had less sitting water.
Also the funky leisure canopy has already started to pull at the pole eyelets and the guy tabs
Would also recommend getting extra guys and using quick attach guy fixings - get then from a good camping shop and buy the most expensive you can find
Depending where you are going in France you will get winds on any sites that because of bernoullis principle means the canopy starts to act as a wing and the guys supplied just are not sufficient
We use three poles with a total of 9 guys some times
Sorry cant supply any pics as all our stuff is on way to Korea so stuck with only iPad to work from | |

| The Danbury sun canopies currently sell for £249 so it will need to be an excellent offer to compete with Funky Leisure. Mind you I have no doubt there is a difference in quality. | |
