| Time to prepare the summer holiday. We are looking to go to Cornwall for a week at the end of August. Any camper friendly recommendations would be gratefully received. | |

| One of our favourites is Porth Beach - www.porthbeach.co.uk - just an amazing location.
At low tide you can walk up the steps to the Glendorgal Hotel for a nice meal in their restaurant - you can get to/from it along the path/road too but it takes a bit longer.
If you're interested in history you can walk out to Trevelgue Head on Porth Island, where you can see the ramparts of an iron age fort built to defend the harbour of one of the first settlements in Cornwall.
Also a short walk into Newquay and a short drive to Fistral beach. ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com | | www.vdubcamperhire.com | Twitter: @AlpineGrove | | Twitter: @tallulah_vw | Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

| Apart from taking Madge to the Kombi Sleepover, we are staying within the county boundaries this year re-visiting Polmanter Touring Park at St Ives and trying out for the first time The Caravan Club sites at Merrose Farm, St Mawes and Godrevy Park near Hayle. | |

| I normally spend a few days here each year - very convenient for Bude and Widemouth Bay. Plus you're not restricted to 7/14 days during peak times.

| If your heading down to the lizzard then you have to stay at Henry's. The showers and facilities aren't all that but it's such a quirky site it's one not to miss.
There's also Treen Farm which is a walk along the cliff top from the Minack Theater. ________________________________________________________________________________ Ginger man without a ginger van

| Thanks to all. The summer of fun has this evening been booked. 4 nights at Wide Mouth Bay touring park in Bude followed by 4 nights at Polmanter in St Ives. Lucky to get into Polmanter as it is getting very booked up. Can't wait now. Roll on the summer holidays! | |

| That looks like a really nice site. It's been bookmarked for future reference. We're heading back to Polmanter later next month. Despite the terrible weather we had there last year the campsite was fabulous. | |

| Agree with you HH - a good choice to stick with the the Polmanter site. We will be heading back there late September. Fingers crossed the Cornish weather will remain as it is now. Have a great holiday. | |

| Team "Madge" headed down to the Cornish south coast to the Wheal Rodney camp site at Marazion near Penzance for a few days. Really nice quiet site with decent shower facilities and as a bonus an indoor pool. The site is just 15 mins walk down to Mounts Bay and there is a bus running a few times a day that stops directly outside the camp entrance. Takes an easy 1 hour n 20 mins to walk to Penzance along the seafront from the campsite. Marazion itself contains a cracking pub - The Goldolphin Arms which we frequent every time we're down this way and can also recommend taking in a visit to St Michaels Mount (National Trust) for the best Crab sandwich ever. | |

Those gulls in Looe are trained robbers. I've lost ice creams to them, the varmints.

| Can't think of anything worse than having your crab sarnie snatched. To be fair the gulls on the Mount are very well behaved. The sea-gulls have been particularly fierce this year down our way with the Royal Mail even refusing to deliver to certain streets near us owing to their delivery staff being attacked by nesting birds. | |
