| Take advantage of my subscription to Auto Express .... They are offering 25% off the price of Philips X-tremeVision Headlamp bulbs from www.powerbulbs.com - normally £29.98 delivered using the code AEXV25 on checkout the price will drop to £22.48. When you go to powerbulbs.com select UK and Ireland, Volkswagen and then the model is Golf Mk1 (1974 - 1991) on the drop down menu. The H4 bulb in our Kombis is the same as fitted to Mk1 Golfs. Then enjoy the saving and the extra light in front of you. By the way you won't need the free gift of the W5W side light bulbs as they don't fit our Kombis, however they're free and will fit the Danbury installed side repeater lights if you still have orange lenses - so grab them. The front lamps are very easy to remove using nothing more than a cross-headed screwdriver. 1. Remove the single screw that keeps the trim ring in place. 2. Remove the 3 screws that hold the body of the headlamp unit on the front panel. NB do not unscrew the headlamp adjustment screws - there are 2. 3. Gently pull the electrical plug off the centre of the rear of the headlamp. 4. Remove the rubber boot cover. 5. Gently unclip the metal spring retainer that holds the headlamp bulb in place. 6. Withdraw the old bulb. 7. Fit the new bulb without touching the glass section and refitting is a reversal of the above. 8. Keep the old bulbs on board as spares. As fitted to my BraziBay Max: ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

| Looks good, and if I read it right, you get a pair of free W5W (501) sidelights with orders over £15.00. (Don't know if these fit our Kombi's, but better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, if they are giving them away). | |

| Thanks Tim - useful tip, have just ordered a set. I'll spend my savings on some brazibay stickers I think! ________________________________________________________________________________ "You can check out any time you like but you can never leave"

| That's a great tip Tim - probably going to go for it - but I was thinking about getting angel eye front lamps for Robin as I like the look on Bmers and others. Has anyone else fitted the JK angel eyes on their Kombi? | |

Has anyone else fitted the JK angel eyes on their Kombi? No longer available at JK according to their website. I've not seen them on a T2. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

| Thanks Tim. Bulbs bought, paid for and in the post. I look forward to seeing how much difference the claimed 100% extra light makes. | |

I look forward to seeing how much difference the claimed 100% extra light makes. Ditto, been looking for a while for something a bit brighter than the 'Toc H' lights fitted to our Brazi's. Its a bit dark down here in the sticks at night.

| And the good news is, having orange side repeaters, I can use the free gift. | |

| Fitted, though I don't know if they are any brighter. Can't tell at the moment but at least they work.
Those small self tappers are fiddly, especially with cold, numb fingers. Even in the short time I was out there changing the bulbs, my fingers froze up, such that closing up the last lamp was tricky, especially when I dropped the screws a couple of times. Oh for a nice heated garage.

| Ok, been out in them this evening (in the snow, snow and more snow!) and yes, they are fantastic. Nice white light into the distance. Even had drivers dipping their lights before me, so they must be good. Happy camper | |

| I'm going to have a training run of putting it all up on our school fields away from prying eyes....................and more importantly I can lose my temper in the middle of a field where no one can hear me and where no one can see me making a right mess of putting it up | |
