Thanks Fiona and EJ, Mine arrived today - have had a play with it - looks good and look forward to trying it at weekend. Completely agree about the impossible bag - its tiny and really flimsy.
The photo doesnt really show how windy it was. Went for a drive and was relieved when returned that the awning was still there at all. Its a good awning, despite the high winds!
Had a similar experience in the outer Hebrides 2 weeks ago when ours collapsed in a gale - it seems that the flat end acts as a sail and the air-beams cannot remain upright in strong winds. I did read that it should withstand a 70mph wind - but that is not my experience. I could not detach from the camper without ours collapsing like this as the wind hit the joining end. Mind you the wind was pulling the tent pegs out of the ground! Has anyone else experienced this - if so perhaps we need a conversation with Vango? Mark
Not sure what the wind speed was, but was really terrible! Isle of may ferry was cancelled and had to go to "the secret bunker" to escape the weather. When got back to the awning, I inflated it to the "top of the green" at 6psi, which stopped the kinking of the inflatable poles. I had read your post about the wind catching joining end so had rolled the canopy up tight and used the fasteners - that seemed to work.
Am really pleased with the awning in general, am less pleased with our recent weather! Hopefully it's improving now!
