I'm not sure if this site has been mentioned, I did do a quick search.
We popped over to the Peterborough Motorhome show yesterday. Saw the Danbury guys and said hello. Also got chatting to a man explaining the Britstops scheme, similar to the France Passion guide. Sounds great for unplanned trips and en route stopovers. Has anyone bought the book and stayed at one of the venues?

Hi -
we signed up for this scheme a couple of weeks ago. The book you get is full of pubs, farms, vineyards etc offering small-scale 'basic' camping.
We haven't tried it yet, but have one booked for this weekend so will report back!
We are looking into getting a solar panel (see other thread) and we have our Thetford port-a-loo, so quite excited about the idea of some Wild Camping!!
After many weekends last year at busy and expensive campsites with lots of rules and restrictions, we thought we'd try and go cheap and cheerful. Although I suspect we'll miss the nice clean toilet blocks!

Yes, I think the sense of freedom and adventure is a big attraction to us all as Brazibay owners. Being able to sort of 'wild camp' is part of it for me too. I like to think I'm a free spirited traveller even if I do have mortgage, job and other commitments at home!

I agree - i like the ease of a nice organised campsite (and the facilities), but the occasional basic camping weekend is very relaxing - even if we do come home with 2 grubby (but happy) kids!
