Kyham Motordome tourer awning

We are thinking about buying a used kyham motordome tourer driveway awning. It's the 2009 model and has only been used 3 times.
I was just wondering if anyone knew of any disadvantages to buying a model nearly 5 years old, for instance, do they need any spares/replacements that I may not be able to get hold of if there's been a change in design.
It comes with the inner tent & poss pole & clamp fitting.
Any ideas on a reasonable price to pay for something like this??
Bit nervous without having seen it...or any awning to compare for that matter!!

Hi there, we've got one of these - four years old. You need to make sure that all the zips are good. One failed on ours but it's still usable. Also one of the toggles on the inner broke, again still usable. But I think we got a duff one to be honest. A fair price - i think they cost about £350/£400. Personally I wouldn't go above £200 if it is second hand. Good luck anyway.

Ours is a similar age. We've had to reseal the stitching next to the fig 8 rope as it had begun to leak, but this isn't a major job, just some aquaseal that brushes on. Would def recommend using the pole and clamp as it gives a much stronger connection.

If we don't get this then we were planning to buy one at the caravan & camping show next week but would be useful to save a few pennies!

No, went upto about £250 in the end so we didn't bid that high.

I really like the Vango Kela - am sure its the quickest awning to put up/take down.

Yep I think the vango blow up awning is the best ive ever used and love the 'no poles' experience :-)

Hopefully we'll be able to have a look at the NEC this weekend & make a decision!   

Ive just ordered a kyham areo tech 4 but we wont get it until march

So we decided to order the kyham motordome classic at the NEC yesterday. Hopefully arrive in a couple of weeks. Our 7 yr old son did a great job of demonstrating just how easy it is to put up & down!
