Your BraziBay - To Do List

You're out on the road, pitched up, chatting with fellow owners or simply somewhere that gives you a moment of inspiration about something you want to get sorted on your Kombi.  We've all been there!  Whether it's a technical enhancement or a fix, a change in trim or a new set of camping pans, you always think of these things at the time but forget to do them by the time you head off on yet another BraziBay adventure.

So that's where this sticky topic comes in handy.  Whenever you think of something, log on, post it on this thread and then it will always be available as a virtual reminder.  Not only will it be there for your benefit, but it may well trigger others to get stuff sorted!!  I'll make this a global sticky so you don't have to search, just go into any category and it'll be up the top ready for your input.  

I'll start this .......

Get bumpers repainted.

Replace leaking sunroof.

Prepare a touch up the paint chips on the drivers door pillar and elsewhere, also remove/rehang sliding door to improve how it closes. We also have a slight issue with the sliding door sliding window that I need to figure out.


....and treat/repaint the gutters....


We also want to work on v2.0 of the PMP (poptop material project) which is still on the drawing board, or more precisely, in a bag at the back of our camping shed...

Must get round to finishing the new curtains I started last year. At the moment I have nice stripey ones with the original  yellow tie-backs.  (An indoor job for the dark nights I think)

Yes Jason .... here's what your Kombi would look like with wheels matching the roof, with chrome hubs and whitewalls.

Been thinking about getting mine wrapped, possibly doing the guttering as well

Finish off central locking on sliding door and hamerite the engine bay.

Still need a wooden steering wheel.

Just had a look on another posting of a Scottish VW show...... think a future must have is some sort of teardrop caravan or trailer to match our Ronnie.
How cool do they look then?

Small caravans are definitely a must have

....or colour matched bespoke trailers...

or.....maybe one of each!

Scooby will not be getting of these 'trailing items' any time soon.
They would restrict his ability to 'wander' let alone speed!

Ha ha, no, that might be a bit too small. I want my girls to play in one, not with one.

As an aside, I remember MB Superfast. I used to have that yellow track stretching through the house.

Feliz has also had white painting on the wheels - however they are black after our 5day road trip to Snowdonia on bank holiday weekend - it was very very wet! reminds me we must update our avitar

After all the issues I've been having over the past year or so it looks like everything is working and over the last 1000 or so problem free miles my confidence In Ginger to get me places has returned. So it looks like she'll still be a member of the family for a bit longer I now have a to do list.

1. Hookup light or buzzer so when I'm connected and the ignition is on I will get some sort of warning so I don't drive off with it connected again

2. Get the bumpers wrapped to stop the stone chips and keep the rust at bay

3. Fit an actuator to the R&R bed so it can be setup with the press of a button

4. Possibly, with a lot of saving, lose the Danbury roof and get the Westy style roof

Need to figure our how to suspend our new kayak from the roof on the inside so that both rear seats can still be used and we can transport it without it sliding around and potentially damaging anyone or anything.

Before I fitted my roof bars I carried my surfboards by fitting handles to the underside of the roof bed and strapped them to those.
