Evening everyone... As a newbie to both posting and campervans , having only had 'Louie' for a few weeks - I hope you'll bear with me. I am trying to find a small, easy to erect awning. The key is 'small' as I only want something big enough to fit a couple of folding camping chairs in. Having got 'Louie' late in the season, we are going to hold off on a proper camping adventure until next year .... But, this year I have been going on days out to the seaside & parks etc with my extended family (8 of us in total) and just want an easy enclosed shelter for the overspill from the van. I just cannot find anything though!! The only one I did track down seems to be discontinued everywhere!! (Kampa travel pod xpress). Surely I can't be the only person who wants something like this ?? Any help would be gratefully received!

The Kyham Motordome awnings are popular with quite a few of our members, but the newer inflatable awnings appear to be getting better and better.
We tend to use our sun canopy for extra shelter and our (new) bell tent if we need more enclosed space although we've yet to use it on a camping trip - it's been up twice in the garden, once to test and the second time as a makeshift cinema for a 10yo party.
Hi and welcome...we have a Kyham driveaway awning which we used for 3 weeks this summer and was functional but I wouldnt say it was particularly attractive. We are going to Dubs in the Forest next weekend and will probably try out our sun canopy which is nicer looking but not enclosed. Absinthe has an interesting one. If you look on our facebook pages there are lots of photos of the different types but better still can you go to a dub event to see all the different types in the flesh? M.
Hi and welcome to the forum. If your looking for something small just for overspill, have your thought about a small pop up tent or something like that. You'll probably soon out grow it though and end up wanting someyhing bigger, might be worthwhile getting a decent sized awning to start with. As mentioned above. The kyham quick erect and the Vango inflatable are both really easy to set up.
Hi and Welcome the THE Forum for Brazi Bays We have a quick erect Kyham Motordome Sleeper Awning - which is FAB for longer stays. For short stays we use a sun canopy, a windbreak and a pop up tent for storage - see pic below from the Sleepover earlier in the year.
As the season is coming to a close you may find prices reducing on the full awnings which will be a good investment in our opinion. Enjoy your days outs and hope to see you on the road in due course. Roo b Roo

I'd agree with the pop up tent idea. We use ours to store chairs etc during times that they are not being used. I'm always suprised how much you can fit inside them. Whilst in 'Decathlon' the other week I noticed that they had a dozen different styles on display, small to large including this 'shelter' style.

Think they just reduced the price of this one too, saw a flyer somewhere....
yep - as above - vango inflatable - serviceable but not pretty, windbreak pretty, pop up tent useful if not putting up awning, sun canopy prettyish but when actually do we ever want to block the sun out! This weekend away will be van and pop up - sun canopy in and may go up but only to attach the bunting to and make camp look pretty - ditto wind break - not really to break the wind (so to speak) more to demarcate possession of space!!!

Here's a pic of camp Tallulah in France this summer.
You can see the sun canopy and pop-up tent, but you can't quite see the wind break in front of Tallulah that closes in the space for the pop-up, trailer and bikes. The boat on trolley in the foreground lived in that space too but hasn't been put away - or maybe it was ready to go out....
We haven't used our full awning for the last two seasons although it has gone out on hire a couple of times.
