| Hi All, Brazilian Kampers have now become the South of England dealer for OPUS trailer tents! At a recent visit to the NEC we were blown away with the small and practicality of these tents. The 6 sleep six and a further 4 in the side awning so 10 people in total with built in heaters, pop up TV screens, cooker, sink fridge etc! Some images below of our demo model... Link to the web site:Opus @ Brazilian Kampers Many Thanks Ian BK ________________________________________________________________________________ www.vwkampers.co.uk

| One thing I will say, is that whenever I'm towing the jetski, the sway in my BraziBay is significantly reduced. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |

Anyone who passed their test after 1st Jan 1997 will need to pass a trailer test to tow a trailer more than 750kg. Shame they couldn't save 100kg! Or was that a typo? If I was making these I'd be trying very hard indeed to keep it below 750kg!

| Hi,
You can tow a trailer over 750kg as long as the combined mass of the trailer and towing vehicle is no more than 3,500kg
So you are able to tow this on a standard licence with no problems at all...
Many Thanks

| Thank you for that correction - I didn't realise that you could tow a trailer over 750kg at all on a standard licence. Very clear here https://www.gov.uk/towing-with-car/what-you-can-tow. | |

Answered it myself, 2505kg is the revenue weight according to my v5. ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

2300kg according to my (Portuguese) handbook! But the rules go by Max Authorised Mass, not the actual weight. According to the OPUS web site at http://www.opuscamper.co.uk/opus.html the MTPLM (Max Technical Permissible Laden Mass) of the trailer is 1500kg. Is that the same as Max Authorised Mass? 2300kg+1500kg=3800kg 2505kg+1500kg=4005kg

| Hi All,
Hopefully this clears it up for you!
Driving Licence Rules & What You Can Tow The rules on what you can tow are different depending on when you passed your driving test: Licences issued from 19th January 2013 From 19th January 2013, drivers passing a category B (car and small vehicle) test can tow: • Small trailers weighing no more than 750kg • A trailer over 750kg as long as the combined weight of the trailer and towing vehicle is no more than 3,500kg (3.5 tonnes) Maximum Authorised Mass (MAM). This is also known as gross vehicle weight (GVW) or permissible maximum weight. If you want to tow a trailer weighing more than 750kg, when the combined weight of the towing vehicle and trailer is more than 3,500kg, you’ll have to pass a further test and get B+E entitlement on your licence. You’ll then be able to tow trailers up to 3,500kg. Licences held from 1st January 1997 If you passed your driving test after 1st January 1997 and have an ordinary category B (car) licence, you can: • Drive a vehicle up to 3,500kg MAM towing a trailer of up to 750kg MAM • Tow a trailer over 750kg MAM as long as the combined MAM of the trailer and towing vehicle is no more than 3,500kg For anything heavier you need to take a category B+E driving test. Licences held before 1st January 1997 If you passed your car test before 1st January 1997 you’re generally entitled to drive a vehicle and trailer combination up to 8,250kg MAM. This is the weight of a vehicle or trailer including the maximum load that can be carried safely when it’s being used on the road. You also have entitlement to drive a minibus with a trailer over 750kg MAM.
Can I Tow The OPUS® Camper? • Even drivers on a restricted licence can tow a trailer over 750kg as long as the combined weight of the trailer and towing vehicle is no more than 3,500kg (3.5 tonnes) Maximum Authorised Mass (MAM).
•The OPUS® Camper has a MAM of 1050kg, so the tow car cannot have a MAM of more than 2450kg for anyone passing their test after 1st January 1997.
For example: A 2.0L Ford Mondeo Estate has a MAM of 2330kg, so the total weight with an OPUS Camper is 3380kg.
Nb. Customers should refer to their own vehicle spec to ensure correct MAM and towing weights. The information above was taken directly from the DVLA website on 06/02/16.
Many Thanks
