what do you do with your waste water?

Hi all,

camping question, what do you use to store/get rid of your waste water from the sink?

Pour it on the floor!

I thought that but my wife insists you can't just do that and there must be some kind of container to collect it all . . .

There’s a small pipe under the van where the waste water from the sink comes out. You could put a bowl under it and then pour it into a drain.

You can get ones for a caravan, but probably too big and expensive for what you want.

An alternative from Demon Tweeks, (and other outlets) is something like this, which would fit underneath and is cheaper.

Once full, just take it to a disposal point.

I just use a collapsible bucket (available from most camping shops) and put it underneath the waste pipe. The bucket fits in the buddy seat box behind the porta potti. Many camping grounds do not allow grey water just draining under the van.

But they only complain if they catch you doing it. therefore don't let them catch you doing it.

Remember it's only wrong if you get caught, and remorse is only there because you got caught! Dizzylizard might have come across this before?

Don't remember the last time we actually used the sink, I've even taken the water carrier out of the cupboard no put extra, removable shelves for storage. We use on site facilities if at a posh campsite, or wash up in a bucket outside the van, as most sites we use are very, very basic.

We use the sink for late night teeth brushing and that’s about it.

We have never used ours.

Sink mostly used for washing up coffee mugs etc.

So typically not much water goes down the sink!

Doo remember to un-clip the cover on the outside - and put it back before driving off

good point Scooby, currently i have absolutely no idea if it's clipped or unclipped . . .

Always leave the outside cover open to 'air' the system.
