Water Cooler Gear Box Wanted

They are like hen's teeth unfortunately. We've got one that we removed, but it needs repairing, which is probably why you need one anyway. Getting one from Brazil is slow and expensive. Your options will probably be to get yours repaired, or to replace it with a Beetle IRS gearbox. There are topics on both these options on the forum. Also there is a Facebook page on VW Type 2 gearboxes, run by Grze Siek, who also posts as brabay on this forum.

Thanks voyager. I am reluctant to open the box as I have already had it fixed and it is still not right. So thats why at this point I want to try a different box. That's two good ideas Brazil and a beetle one. I will check out that facebook page you recommended. Thanks again Gavin

The Company is called Volkshaus based near Warwick. This is the input shaft and fitted required for modification of a beetle IRS gearbox to a water-cooled.

The input shaft extension is the thing you require.

Maybe give them a call as they offer to Supply or you supply gearbox and they will do the modification.

Hi Guys
I can get reconditioned Brazilian gearbox from a very good source for around £1k. I have bought 6 in the last couple umyears and never had any problems.
