Room in van Empty
PostSubject: Room in van   Room in van EmptyWed Jul 07, 2021 9:31 am

I am away my first solo trip to North Ledaig Caravan Park near Oban. I have found that a Kombi is just perfect for one. When my partner came away with me twice recently we found that space was tight (especially the bed). But for one it is amazingly roomy and comfortable. We reckon an awning is a must to ensure we don’t keep bumping in to each other. I have scoped out a Vango Kela which looks great. Anyone got one of these and have any recommendations

Thanks

Ronnie

Quite a few members have got a Vango Kela and seem to be happy with it. We've got a Vango Attar, but use it for living rather than sleeping area, and only for longer trips. Don't believe the hype about how quick it is to pitch an air awning. Most of the time is taken by pegging down, hanging the internal tent, and clamping to the van, just like any other awning. The Khyam dome awnings are probably just as quick to erect. For short trips we use a pop-up gazebo or canopy, but that is just for shelter. We also have a small pop-up tent for storage on site.

We've done a kela vs khyam review, it's on the forum. The kela is a good size when we (2 adults 2 dogs) are away for longer trips, for wee trips we tend to use our canopy and pop up tent for storage.

Not been to Troon for ages! You're welcome to come and see our awning before you buy.

That is a most generous offer. What part of Central Scotland do you live?
