Welcome! There was a bit of discussion about this before. jboa was looking into having a jack point moved so as to fit the Just Kampers side step rather than fork out £300 for the custom made step that Danbury supply. Personally I'd be wary about moving the jack point as there must be a reason Volkswagen chose to move it from it's 'classic' position. Why don't you message jboa and see how he got on?

No that's not a good option. Are you going to any of the shows that Danbury are attending? Maybe they could take it along and fit it there for you. I know they're at Volksworld next weekend.

Hi Tim / ritchiemutley
I haven't taken my idea any further, buts it's still at the back of my mind. I wasn't thinking of moving the existing jacking point but just getting another one welded on to the same outrigger that the German vans have them on.
You can get a jacking point from JK for under £20. Weld it on, plenty of under seal, then just bolt on a JK side step.. Job done under £120 not including welding costs. Its got to be a lot cheaper than £300.

Sure sounds like a good solution! It'll be a bit like a third leg ;0)

I saw this on a Brazilian T2 today at the Volksworld Show. Seems this owner opted for the 3rd jacking point to fit the regular side step.
