| Hi. I've posted a few times on the forum but not yet formally introduced myself. Firstly thank you to everyone who has helped my with my first few questions. It took nearly 2 years to find my dream Camper. I visited shows, searched the internet daily and what started as a dream rapidly became an obsession. Many a time my wife would enquire what I was doing on the ipad at midnight? I found what I thought was a great van only to arrive for a viewing and be presented with rust on wheels. In April this year I booked up a family week away in an 1972 T2 hired from O'Connors in Okehampton. We had an absolute ball. It certainly did the trick. My wife announced it was the best holiday we'd had in ages and gave the green light to search a bit harder for our own van. One thing I did notice from hiring an old camper was things seemed to go wrong- a lot. We were stopped for having no brake lights, the leisure battery stopped working after one day and to cap it all the lights all came on at 2am one morning! That made up my mind - the camper needed to be reliable and that meant Brazilian. One night on another of my internet searches I spotted a 2006 Brazilian Danbury on Ebay. 19000 miles and one owner. That was it. I call to the owner revealed that he had been swamped with calls and had already had people to view. A quick decision was made and a deposit was sent via internet banking. I don't think I have ever been as nervous about a purchase since buying our first home 15 years ago. A trip was arranged to Cardiff on the Saturday and the deal was done. The van was originally called Wander but my 8 year old son didn't like the idea of a girl in the family. The owner even offered to drive the van to us the following week for the price of his train fare back. I've had the van just over a week. It's already been to Gingers in Waterlooville to be lowered and have electric hook up fitted. He did a fantastic job. New alloys have been fitted and the van cleaned and polished to within an inch of its metal. A new longlife exhaust is being fitted on Saturday (there is a hole the size of my fist in one of the silencers) and finally at the end of June the seats are going to be recovered by Katie at 'Totally Trimmed' in Bournemouth. Final job is to change the garage door as Eddie is about 4inch too high to fit inside. He really wants to be tucked up in the warm and dry come winter. I'm looking forward to meeting you all at some future shows. I would like to come to the Kombi sleepover but that is the week that the seats are being covered - bad planning! Anyway some pics of Eddie looking proud in his new home - By the way I designed the window sticker myself using Vistaprint.

| Nice Kombi and a great story. If you can't make the sleepover then how about CamperJam 6-8th July. We have a club camping pitch and at last count there will be around 20 Kombis there. Great show too! | Splendid Kombi ! Obviously Eddie has pride of place on the drive. Where did Eddie's name come from? Cheers Batty | |

| Thank you for all your messages. We hired a van in April called 'Nice Guy Eddie' (Reservoir Dogs) and the name kind of stuck. When we got our van it just looked like another Eddie. He's rapidly become another member of the family. It's not rational really - a lump of metal on wheels and we treat it like a human! | |

| My first introduction post. Not sure where the pictures have gone. Do they disappear after a period of time? Eddie really was Max's twin in 2012 but things have changed since....................... | |

I've got loads of pictures missing as well. Can't be a time thing as my first pictures are still there, and it's not a file name thing either as they're all over the place ________________________________________________________________________________ Ginger man without a ginger van | |

| The html code for the images is still there (although you can't see it in the post) but the images themselves are no longer available which suggests they're been moved to a different server or location or deleted by servimg. - Code:
