| so I stared a foodie thread (special BBQ thread still to come..)
was thinking today about the other passion of mine which is playing guitar, and what makes great BBQ/campfire songs. Two things - easy to sing and easy to play after a few glasses of cider :-)
a few of my favourite 'grown up' campfire songs
Brown Eyed Girl Pretty Woman Hazard by Richard Marx Cant Help Falling in Love with you - Elvis Don't Cry / Patience / Sweet Child o Mine - GnR Hey Jude Half the World Away - Oasis Killing me Softly Knocking on Heavens Door - Dylan

| Hi Bud
Elspeth and I are folk musicians and singers - so we could bore you to death with the songs that we do - Shanty's and depressing folk songs (which they all are!)
Perhaps if we get together at a meet we could jam - Elspeth is a fiddle player and I sing and sometimes grab the bhoran.
Songs I love at less folky nights are:
Oasis - Don't look back in anger Oasis - Wonderwall Four Seasons in One Day - Crowded House It's only natural - Crowded House Black is the colour - Paul Weller Anything by the Beatles - but particularly Michelle and Norwiegen Wood The Queen and The Soldier - Suzanne Vega Space Oddity - David Bowie - in fact most things by Bowie Make you feel my love - Adele New York! New York! - Frankie Boy
And a million and one folk songs!
Cheers - Batman

That is a great song, although Satisfied is my favourite Marx track. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |

| Hey Tallulah Are you going to Sidmouth this year??? We are only about an hour away from there and have been considering going for quite a few years - it's just not the most 'kid-friendly' festival. Are you folkies???? Elspeth plays fiddle and whistle - I have a go at the Bhoran and call (dance calling) Cheers - Batty | |

| We've been going to Sidmouth for the last four or five years although we don't tend to buy tickets for the main events, preferring to go to one (or all!) of the pubs running free events and open mic sessions.
We have friends who run a juggling stall along the prom and various friends in the area so we also use it as a base to catch up with everyone.
For the last 3 years we've stayed at Thorn GC which turns into a campsite for the duration and also hosts one of the fringe events. There's a bus service from there into town or you can walk along a coastal path in 20mins or so.
Unfortunately, due to other commitments, I don't think we will be able to make it Sidmouth this year, but you are welcome to grill me for information.
