just a fantastic day for driving around with a huge grin.. loads of waves and a chat from passers by. Getting a bit fed up with the same conversation though >> 'wow did you restore it yourself?'...'no - its new'......... Very Happy

Lol .... I'm beginning to think we should have a club sticker that says something along the lines of '... yes it's one of those new ones.'

It's great as a conversation starter though ... and if your Kombi gives someone a 'lift' in their day, then so much the better. cheers

We get it all the time too, we now add half an hour to any planned stops just for converations and enquiries! Very Happy

We were parked on the beach at Uphill yesterday enjoying the fog, when a chap came up, and before he had finished saying "did you paint it yourself" his Rottweiler was inside making a personal inspection. Laughing

I've only once sayed "yes it took me ages to restore it" just because I got fed up saying it's a new one just to see if I could get away with it, the chap lapped it up. Laughing

I heard a shout of "nice restoration mate" across a busy car park a few months back. I just shouted back "thanks mate" and carried on as normal. Did make me chuckle though.

Last year at brean, on the way out, an elderly chap asked how much the Aircon conversion cost bless him. When i explained they were watercooled "its a radiator" and built in Brazil he said "oh they make them in Africa now is it?" Happy days pirat
