Happy cruising all you late bay owners!

I thought it time for us to say hello, and join this mighty fine forum you have going here Surprised)

We recently had a beloved Brazilian camper completed. Has been one hell of a long road I must say.. Some sleepless nights, but in the end, we are both very happy campers! (Pardon the pun...)

A bit about us, An aussie and a britt. Marty and Mel. Our van bought new and striped and built ground up the way we liked it. Our buses name is Seymour, named after my father. We are hanging for some adventures in him! Since at the moment he's in hibernation. BRING ON THE HOLIDAYS!! WHOOP!!!

Now for some pics of our new member of the family:

Welcome, as someone who is going to the paintshop a week today, the pics are great. We are however only going to paint the outside lower half , but your inside pics are stunning.

Very interested in the box your making and I notice in your last pic in the carpark your pop-top is not all the way down it's caught on the gutters.

Cheers mate. Yeah my other half and I had some rather "heated" discussions when we made that box. After all the measuring etc, it almost didn't fit! Here's a pic of it in:

In search of Seymour.... FINALLY WE HAVE FOUND HIM!! Dscn2018

Haven't had a chance to even tune it all properly yet... Just been too busy. Can't wait for some time off

I was wondering about the roof too TBH.... That position is "ment" to be down.. Think I will have to look into it. Any advice is appreciated!

When lowering the roof you need to walk around and tuck the roof in the guttering before you secure it.

Also make sure the canvas isn't trapped on the inside.
When lowering the roof you need to tuck the canvas outside the woodern edging.
It's a bit of a faff but you get used to it.

That's quite a huge box, what size is the Sub? I've got a 10" under the seat using a standard box. Gives the passengers in the back a lovely massage

Cheers mate, will deff look into the roof next time I see the van. The sub is only an 8 Inch. Box is quite big due to all the bracing inside. Hense our "fun" building it, working out volumes etc... The Sub is a JL W7AE8

http://www.jlaudio.com/8w7ae-3-car-audio-w7ae-subwoofer-drivers-92117

Always wanted a JL sub back in the day, but could never afford one. I very greatful I could get one for the van! It still needs proper tuning. Only just got my hands on some test tones etc.. Haven't run it very hard, quite looking forwards to hearing what it's capable of. Might be a bit under powered tho...

When raising room lift front first then rear and when lowering drop rear first then front then follow Kiteman's instructions below.

I disagree with the idea of pulling the rear down first when lowering the roof. The Danbury roof specifically has a plinth across the front of the inside of the top that butts up against the front inside edge of the frame. You lower the front of the roof so that this plinth is in the correct position, then pull down the rear. Does the VWK roof feature a similar plinth?

At the handover I was told lower back first Tim maybe Danbury could confirm?
