For our third VW Weekend in a row we were off again
(previously Volksword, followed by DubAid now this)
So here are some words pics from our Easter weekend in Padstow (via Woolacombe)
We like this pic as Scooby takes the steep road down in to Woolacombe at around 10.00am
Stayed at Woolacombe until after lunch, it was dry, sunny and not very busy
On the way back to Scooby spotted some ‘little stowaways’ escaping via a ramp
Then we were off to Padstow, arriving around 4.00pm
Set up camp, put up the awning and had something to eat
As the sun was setting we had a another drink or two and watched the dragon fly
In the morning there was some light rain for an hour or so
(No need to rush around then
)
By 11.00am it had stopped so we left Scooby at the campsite
We walked along the footpath from the site, through fields and into Padstow (20 mins)
Padstow was very busy so we quickly had some lunch and decided to walk along the coastline
The skies started to clear and we just kept on walking – getting down on to the beach
Not quite making round the head into Hawkers Bay (?) as the tide was rapidly coming in – maybe tomorrow
As we made our way back through the campsite we saw another BraziBay
They were not home but we left a card and a message (never did manage to find them in)
As it was Saturday night so we had to have a BBQ and some Rib-eye steaks + a drink or two
The two campers in the background were on hire and the two small families kept themselves to themselves
Sunday was dry but overcast so we again walked into Padstow and after lunch along the coast
Being earlier in the day compared to yesterday the tide was further out and we ended up being on the beach all day
We encountered some wildlife on the walk back, we like this pic
As we took our final look around Padstow we said farewell to the harbour (for this trip at least)
Headed back to the campsite across the fields back at Scooby in time for tea thinking how lucky we had been with the weather
The Monday was a whole different story
High winds and rain from the early hours and nearly all day on the drive home
But Scooby did us proud
Had a FAB week end
Here's to the next one - after a little rest first
